You can fund African community self-determination programs in the U.S., such as a kitchen or recording studio built as a business incubator for jobs in impoverished neighborhoods. You can fund…(other)
We understand that Africa, as the continent richest in natural resources, is not poor! Africa has been continuously looted of its people, minerals and resources for the benefit of the white world for the past 600 years and reparations are due.
We believe the enormous wealth of industrialized countries coming at the expense of the people of impoverished nations in Africa and elsewhere is neither viable nor just and must be rectified.
We believe that genuine world peace comes only through justice. The ongoing U.S. wars and proxy wars for imperialist control of resources, bringing death, rape, poverty and dependency to millions of people in Africa and around the world must end.
We believe that all U.S. and European corporate plunder and extraction of Africa’s resources, diamonds, oil and other minerals, based on the near slave labor of African men, women and children, must end.
We believe that the unjust mass imprisonment and criminalization of African people inside the U.S.—exploitation that creates economic stimulus for predominately white jobs and businesses—must end.
We understand that African people in the United States, who are experiencing up to 50% unemployment, who are discriminatorily stuffed into U.S. prisons and who suffer unprecedented levels of police violence and poverty, face the same conditions of colonialism that Africans face throughout the world.
We believe our role as white people in helping to solve the dire poverty and suffering of African and oppressed peoples everywhere is not through charity.
The solution to these problems is the movements led by African and oppressed peoples for self-determination and for sovereignty over their own land and resources.
Our role is to build genuine solidarity with the growing movement for African liberation by building a movement for reparations to African people. All resources raised through Africa’s Resources in African Hands goes directly to self-determination programs and institutions of the Uhuru Movement.
Take this step towards forging a principled relationship with African people and righting the historical wrongs inside this country and around the world.
