From behind the scenes purchasing materials and equipment to mixing veggie burgers and making sauces and Jamaica Cooler at our Emeryville kitchen to crossing the bridge and erecting our booth and of course making it all come together on site the days of the faire - it was a pleasure to meet and work with all the new people and reassuring to have the seasoned veterans back in the booth.

In case you weren't able to follow the flow of our crew this year we had amazing  volunteers from Lynbrook High School in San Jose, Gunn High School in Palo Alto, Carlmont and San Mateo High Schools in San Mateo, Oakland High and Skyline High in Oakland, and students from Cal State East Bay’s Alpha Phi Omega service organization, and a recent graduate from UC-Davis.

It was inspiring to see the collective spirit in the booth - producing gorgeous food, providing speedy service, doing whatever was needed, all the while engaging the public and truly representing the goals and aspirations of our Movement and foods institution. Uhuru!

A special nod to Alpha Phi Omega members who completed the weekend cleaning the booth, organizing everything and loading the truck, despite whipping winds and on the tail of a long day you folks made it happen... we couldn't do it without you.

Our booth won support for the Uhuru Commercial Kitchen and let people know that everyone can participate in the Uhuru Pies holiday fundraiser at Thanksgiving.
