Thank You to Uhuru Foods
Fantastic Volunteers at SF Pride

On behalf of Uhuru Foods and the Uhuru Movement, we would like to express my appreciation to all the volunteers who made our booth at SF Pride this past weekend energetic, alive and on point with the African liberation movement! Uhuru!

It was a pleasure to work with you all: the warehouse crew, the kitchen veggie peelers, the early morning set-uppers, the potato choppers, the falafel ballers, the Frymaster fryerers, the cheese melters, the pita folderers, the facilitators and the never-giving-in sellers – a mighty Uhuru! (ring the bell, bang the pan,  shout from the back)

Our spirit was high and our spirit comes from the people, - real people power working for change in the world.

Our strength lies in the collective and you were all a formidable part of our agenda – freedom for Africa and her people, in our lifetime.

While many on this past weekend celebrated freedoms achieved, or on the rise, and in the courts, Uhuru Foods stands in solidarity with the movement of the poor, and oppressed and suffering and much-maligned African community of the continent of Africa and the Bay Area for self-determination, justice and economic development.

Thank you for demonstrating your progressive foot forward with Uhuru Foods.

Special recognition to:
Ron, David, Veronica Chin in our Oakland warehouse and Emeryville kitchen.

Our Saturday crew:
Sadie, Wendy, and the Oakland HS Key Clubbers: Andrew, Melina, Christina & Teresa! From Oaktown to Fairfax to San Fran – Key Club in solidarity w/ Africa!

To Tom Fisher, for troubleshooting Sat. and closing out Sun. Uhuru!

Our Sunday crew:
Emily @ 8 am, lifting potatoes off the truck, to holding down the quick food service as our facilitator. Working 8 hours straight!

The always impressive, always strong Alpha Phi Omega & friends! Many thanks for your unending support, assertive sales, enthusiastic donations and muscular work. To Richanne, Mai, Lina, John, Matthew, James, Justin, Mo, Sean, Oliver, Helena, and a special thanks to Annie Her for spreading the word and organizing APO into our misson.

The Uhuru Movement is on the rise and you should all feel proud for playing a part in its ascendency, from East Oakland to Philly to St. Pete, Fl, to NYC to Sierra Leone to Zimbabwe to London to….

Uhuru!
