Letter from the Membership Chair!

Wendy Snyder, new Chair of Sustainable Membership for USM, addresses members and supporters:
"These are exciting times in the Uhuru Movement. As Obama’s “post-racial” America is exposed as a lie, the movement for real hope and change is growing daily. In less than two weeks, the St. Petersburg Freedom Summer Project will begin!"

Message from the Chairman of the African People's Socialist Party

"Nearly a half-century after the Freedom Rides of the 1960s and SNCC’s Freedom Summer of 1964, and nearly 30 years after the Oakland Summer Project of 1984, African people in the U.S. are still struggling for self-determination and liberation! This is why the African People’s Socialist Party is calling the 2011 St Petersburg Freedom Summer Project."

$5,000 is needed for the historic 2011 Uhuru Freedom Summer Project for food, housing and transportation for more than a hundred participants for the 30-day project!

USM Forces Stand in Solidarity with African Youth in Ohio

In late April of 2011, a thirteen year old African girl got into a physical altercation with a Euro-American female student at a Gahanna, Ohio Middle School. On that April day, the school’s colonialist principal felt that this particular student was a threat to the rest of the students in the school and called the local police who came and arrested the teenager. She wasn’t just taken to the jail to scare her. She was read her rights, fingerprinted, booked and put in a jail cell with no shoes on her feet!

Uhuru Solidarity Movement Convention: No phony antiwar movement!

On June 4 and 5, 2011 the Uhuru Solidarity Movement held its National Convention “Resistance is the Future: Solidarity with African Liberation”, in Philadelphia, PA. The USM Convention is for white people and other allies of the liberation struggle of African people—inside this country, in Africa, the Caribbean and the world.

Why should European/North Americans join Uhuru Solidarity Movement? by Johann Bedingfield

We, as white North Americans and Europeans can choose honest solidarity with African people, and, guided by their leadership, can discover our own humanity. The fist of black power once again snaps the chains of oppression, a reemerging nation rising. The system that has left the battle scars of whips and the back breaking work of building railroads and picking food and cotton for the Euro-American nation is coming to an end.
